Ryan
Patrick Imming (RPI) quit his “real job” in the fall
of 2001 to pursue his career as a singer/songwriter. Since then
he has logged over 100,000 miles on 2 vans, played over 500 shows
in 7 states, and sold more than 5000 copies of his 3 independently
released CD’s. In the process of all of this he has become
a favorite on the midwest bar and college circuits, playing to
capacity crowds in cities as big as Dallas, Chicago, and St. Louis,
and towns as small as Macomb, IL., Maryville, MO., and Manhattan,
KS.
Ryan
wins over audiences large and small with his uncanny ability
to relate to people through story and song. He uses live “phrase
sampling” or “looping” to create a full band
sound that is visually stimulating and sonically amazing. While
effortlessly layering vocals, guitar, bass, harmonica and “creative
percussion,” Ryan lets his songs take he and his audience
to undiscovered territory on a nightly basis.
RPI
is currently touring in support of his latest release, “live
at the hi ho” (small pond records 2004) and will begin
recording his next studio record in the summer of 2005 for a
spring 2006 release.
In the past he has shared the
stage with a wide range of national touring acts including:
Dave Matthews & Tim Reynolds
Sheryl Crow
Cowboy Mouth
Michelle Branch
Michael Glabicki (former lead singer of Rusted Root)
Dave Edmunds
Cary Pierce (formerly of JACKOPIERCE)
The Pat McGee Band
Better Than Ezra
The Samples
He has also shared the bill with several successful regional
touring acts including:
Ari Hest (New York)
Shaking Tree (Kansas City)
Trippin Billies (Chicago)
GB Leighton (Minneapolis)
Pomeroy (Kansas City)
Umphrey’s McGee (Chicago)
Panoramic Blue (Minneapolis)
Dazy Head Mazy (Minneapolis)
Mission 19 (Colorado)
E Double (Kansas City)
Ryan's instinctive
union with his audience is immediately evident during his mind
blowing live shows and acts as a reminder to him of what is
possible when musicians never lose sight of the fact that playing
music and putting smiles on people’s faces is the most
important thing.
